Building skills, confidence, and community

Welcome to Todmorden Judo Club, where we’ve been fostering a passion for Judo and self-defence in our community since 1987.
Founded by Sensei Sean Nuttall, our club is proud to continue his legacy under the leadership of our dedicated volunteers, instructors Simon Keane, Manuel Mesones, and Alf Duddridge.

Why choose Judo?

Created in 1882 by Jigoro Kano, Judo, which means ‘the gentle way’, is more than just a martial art.
It’s a journey of personal development, combining physical fitness, mental focus, and self-discipline. By learning Judo, you’ll enhance your strength, balance, coordination, and confidence while cultivating respect for others and yourself.

Judo isn’t just about combat—it’s about play, skill, and personal growth. Our dynamic approach blends games and friendly competition to develop psychomotor skills in a fun and supportive environment. Judo provides valuable benefits for people of all ages and skill levels, from learning the basics to building confidence in self-defence techniques.
